Belvedere (East Los Angeles)
Here's the odd-shaped pool.

The rest of the skatepark has some interesting features.

Delano
Here's a panorama that shows most of the Delano skatepark. The flow bowl area is really fun.

Orange Cove Orange Cove

Here's a panorama that shows most of the Orange Cove skatepark. We met the Mayor of Orange Cove and thanked him for having a pro-skateboarding outlook. The skatepark is free, has lights, and is very well maintained. Thank you Mayor Lopez!

This is the pool at Orange Cove. The deep end is a 10 foot capsule shape, and it has two steep shallow end pockets. Very fun to ride.

Selma
The tiny Selma skatepark is a great example of design efficiency. This is a picture of the small plaza area, which includes real planters and a grass gap.

The bowl at Selma has a 10 foot deep end, a 7 foot side pocket, and a miniramp style shallow end. The bowl is separated from the plaza by grass and a sidewalk.

Granite (Sacramento)
So the Granite skatepark in Sacramento was our primary destination this year. Let's just say that the place is enormous and the terrain actually could be considered to be four or five skateparks blended together. Wow.

This picture shows the three-quarter pipe bowl and the 10-foot pool. There's also a 12-foot egg shaped pool and tons of obstacles for street skaters. We really enjoyed the reservoir area lined with curbs - slappy grinds anyone?

Yet another bowl at the Granite skatepark. This one features two oververt pockets!

Pacifica
This is the smaller bowl at the Pacifica skatepark. The street section is behind this bowl.

This picture shows most of the big bowl at Pacifica. This bowl has an oververt clamshell and a halfpipe section in the middle. Lots of pool coping in this skatepark!

Santa Cruz
The Santa Cruz skatepark features this crazy wave shaped full pipe that feeds a 9 foot bowl, an oververt clamshell, and a shallow bowl section. This bowl complex is a great design.

This picture shows the clamshell and the shallow end of the pipe complex.

This peanut pool is a lot of fun. It has one deathbox in the deep end near the hip, and one deathbox in the shallow end. The turquoise tinted concrete looks pretty cool.

Yes, Virginia, there is a street section at Santa Cruz.

Culver City
As of September 2007, the Culver City skatepark is the newest skatepark in Southern California. This picture shows most of the street section.

The pool at Culver City has a 10 foot wide deep end, and two shallow pockets. This is a shot looking from the deep end. This pool is wide open and one can find plenty of lines in it.
